Manchester United are expected to pass on trialist Daniel Lloyd-Weston, the Port Vale goalkeeper.
The Mirror says Colchester United boss Aidy Boothroyd is ready to snap up Lloyd-Weston - after his trial ends with Manchester United.
Boothroyd is poised with a bid for the youngster who will be sold by Vale and is currently with United where he is being looked at as a potential capture.
Lloyd-Weston is likely to jump at the Colchester offer rather than join United and be at the back of the queue for a game - and Boothroyd wants to tie up a deal quickly for him.
