Colantuono hits back at Palermo president Zamparini

Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini has been blasted by sacked coach Stefano Colantuono.

"I accepted the President's decision in a relaxed manner," said Colantuono. "In these last few days I heard a few statements I can accept, but not agree with, though.

"Palermo is a splendid place where you can get great work done without pressure from the fans. The big pressure comes from the President."

Zamparini has now brought back Francesco Guidolin, a boss he has hired and fired on three previous occasions.

"I thank Zamparini, but would like to point out we did what was expected of us," concluded Colantuono.

"My consolation is that the objectives put in place when we began this adventure were achieved."
