Stoke City chairman Peter Coates is excited by the arrival of Bojan Krkic from Barcelona.
The 23-year-old Spaniard is primed for his competitive debut alongside fellow newcomers Phil Bardsley and Mame Diouf in their Premier League opener at home to Aston Villa.
"I know how tough this business is and so I'm always cautious before the start of any season," Coates told The Sentinel, "but yes, we are obviously hoping for a good and exciting season.
"There have been some interesting signings and we hope they are going to work, but we will only know for sure when they get out there and perform week-in and week-out.
"Bojan is clearly very exciting and it will be great if he can excite our supporters, make us entertaining and score goals.
"He's settled in very well, feels comfortable with us and things do look promising."
