Coaches, directors to follow Eriksson out of Man City

Coaching staff and board members could follow Sven Goran Eriksson out of Manchester City at the end of the season, it has been revealed.

The Times says Tord Grip and Hans Backe, Eriksson's assistants, will follow the former England head coach out of the door when he is sacked at the end of the season, but uncertainty also surrounds the futures of some of the club's board members. Alistair Mackintosh, the City chief executive, and John Wardle, the deputy chairman, have tried to talk Thaksin Shinawatra out of dismissing Eriksson, but the club owner's refusal to heed their advice leaves both in an awkward position.

Likewise, Bryan Bodek, a director, who is also keen for Eriksson to stay on as manager. The rest of the board is made up by Thaksin, Panthongtae and Pintongta Shinawatra, the owner's son and daughter respectively, and Sasin Monvoisin, the wife of the former Thai Ambassador to Britain.
