CMR 1 - 2 DEN: Denmark come from behind to beat Cameroon

Denmark have managed to turn a one-goal deficit into a 2-1 win over Cameroon in Pretoria.

Group ECameroon: 1 (Samuel Eto'o 10') Denmark: 2 (Nicklas Bendtner 33', Dennis Rommedahl 61')

Venue: Loftus Versfeld Stadium - Tshwane/Pretoria Crowd: 33,000 Referee: Jorge Larrionda (URU) Yellow cards:CMR - Sebastien Bassong 49', Stephane Mbia 75' DEN - Thomas Sorensen 86', Simon Kjaer 87'

The match could not have started any better for the Cameroonians when in the 10th minute, they received a gift from Denmark's Christian Poulsen whose attempted pass in defence was intercepted by Achille Emana who squared it up neatly for Samuel Eto'o. The Inter Milan striker controlled with one touch then powered it past Thomas Sorensen to make it 1-0.

Denmark hit back just after the half-hour mark when a sublime long ball from Simon Kjaer in defence found Dennis Rommedahl's run on the right flank and the veteran winger played an inch-perfect low cross to a sliding Nicklas Bendtner who only had to make contact and the ball was in.

The match was very open with both sides squandering great chances minutes before the half-time break and it was a miracle that there no further goals in the opening 45.

After some end to end play at the start of the second term, Denmark hit the lead in the 61st minute when Rommedahl took the ball into the area down the right side before turning Jean Makoun in the area and curling a left-footed shot past Souleymanou Hamidou to make it 2-1.

Cameroon had some good opportunities to grab an equaliser as the match progressed as Denmark were living on the edge but the Danes held out an recorded a much-needed three points.
