Matt McKay claims there is plenty of interest in his services after terminating his contract with Changchun Yatai.
The 30-year old midfielder, who can be deployed at left-back, has ended his two-year deal in China just six months into the agreement and will now return to Australia to assess his future.
"I didn't want to think about my club stuff during this tournament but now it's sorted I'm going to head back to China now and pack up my things and head back to Australia and decide my future,'' he said from the East Asian Cup in South Korea.
"I've already got a bit of interest so I'll wait and make the right choice for myself.
"I want to play for the national team, I want to go to the World Cup so the decision will be based on that.''
McKay first made the move away from Australia when he left Brisbane Roar for a loan with Changchun in 2009 prior to his 2011 shift to Scottish club Rangers.
The spell in Glasgow did not go as planned and McKay was soon on his way to South Korea's Busan I'Park before returning to Changchun in January this year.
