Phil Bardsley isn't short of offers as he comes off contract at Stoke City.
The Daily Mail says Newcastle and Brighton are both understood to be monitoring Bardsley's situation while a return to Sunderland or a switch to Hull, both of whom will be playing in the Championship next season, may also be an option.
Reading, who are in with a shout for Premier League promotion, is also a possibility.
The versatile defender is out of contract at the end of the season, though the club have the option of extending the deal by a further 12 months.
