Club Brugge goalkeeper Mathew Ryan is loving working closely with his manager Michel Preud'homme.
The 21-year old Australian has started all 19 Belgian Pro League matches in his first season in Europe, with Brugge sitting third on the table, and he is thoroughly enjoying his time with the Blauw-Zwart.
Ryan's boss Preud'homme is a legend of Belgian football, winning the FIFA World Cup Goalkeeper of the Tournament in 1994, as well as being a star for Standard Liege, Mechelen and Benfica and the former Central Coast Mariners ace is expecting to learn a lot from him as he progresses at the Jan Breydel Stadium.
"I quickly learnt that he was a legend here," Ryan said. "In terms of having much to do with me personally, he came in midway throughout the season so it's been pretty difficult for him.
"He's just been focusing on the team as his main focus, in terms of getting the style across. He mentions a couple of little things to me on how he wants me to play.
"But with every week we're getting to know each other a little bit more. Hopefully he can have a positive influence on my career also."
