Club America narrowly defeat Portland Timbers in friendly

Mexican outfit Club America last night defeated MLS club Portland Timbers 1-0 in a mid-season friendly.

A crowd of more than 17,000 came to Portland's JELD-WEN Field to see the Aguilas take on the Timbers in a very open affair which saw both sides have a host of goalscoring chances.

The only goal of the game was scored by Mexico international Angel Reyna, who turned in the middle of the area to whip the ball past Adin Brown in the 16th minute.

After a great start winning their first five games at home, the Timbers have now lost five of their past six at the venue including a 2-0 friendly defeat at the hands of Dutch giants Ajax Amsterdam in May.
