Clough Jr fancies Forest return

Nigel Clough is open to a return to Nottingham Forest as new manager.

The Sunday Mirror says Clough Jnr has told close friends he is prepared to take the drastic step of quitting Burton Albion to make a sensational City Ground return.

The 42-year-old is set to fight No.1 choice Billy Davies to succeed Colin Calderwood, who was booted out on Boxing Day.

Clough has worked miracles at Burton during a decade of loyal service and this season they're 10 points clear at the top of the Blue Square Premier.

He infamously fell out with Forest over the way his late father Brian's departure was handled in 1993.

Dad Brian won two European Cups and the 1978 League title during a glittering 18-year spell at Forest.
