Close-knit Leicester can overcome Chelsea exit of Kante - Schmeichel

Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel is confident that Claudio Ranieri's close-knit squad will be able to overcome the departure of midfielder N'Golo Kante.

Kante, who was a significant part of the league-winning Leicester side last season, joined Chelsea for a reported fee of £32million earlier this summer.

When asked whether Kante's departure could have an adverse impact on the Foxes, Schmeichel said: "Time will tell if the squad is stronger but we're not a one-man team. We're a very closely knit unit.

"We don't go around pretending to be this and that or saying we're going to do this or that. We just work hard for each other every single game. That's all we can ask of each other and it's brought us a lot of success.

"It's one game at a time. We give everything we've got and hope for a positive outcome. It's an approach that's brought us a lot of success so there's no reason to change it."
