QPR boss Harry Redknapp is expected to take the club captaincy away from Clint Hill.
Summer signing Rio Ferdinand is favourite to take the armband off Hill, who has held the position since January 2013.
Redknapp said: "I have made up my mind but I have to speak to a few of the lads first.
"Clint Hill has been a fantastic captain, a great club man and professional and I wouldn't want to do anything without speaking to Clint. He will be club captain whatever happens. I need to speak to Clint today or tomorrow morning because he is a top man."
