Manchester City left-back Gael Clichy admits that the Citizens need to start taking their chances, while defending better as a team.
The Frenchman was a part of the City team that suffered a humiliating 4-0 defeat at Everton on Sunday.
The Citizens' next assignment is a home game against high-flying Tottenham Hotspur which Clichy suggests will have to bring about defensive improvement.
He told CityTV: "We know we must do better.
"We knew how they were going to play, most of the time with a long ball to (Romelu) Lukaku, and with five at the back and on the counter-attack.
"We knew that, but we also know that we want to play how we want to play, because we believe it's the way to win games.
"Sometimes you have to be realistic – when there are chances to take you have to score, and when you defend you need to defend better."
