Clichy: If Man City can avoid conceding, we can score at any moment!

Manchester City full-back Gael Clichy is confident the team can win football matches if they avoid conceding goals.

City defeated Sunderland 2-0 at the Stadium of Light on Sunday to make it four Premier League victories on the trot.

Goals either side of the break from Sergio Aguero and Leroy Sane did the damage in a match Clichy feels he and his teammates controlled brilliantly.

"It's always a difficult place to come," he told CityTV.

"I wish them good luck because I have some good friends but in the Premier League every team has got their own qualities.

"They surely have great players so we knew from the start that we had to be ready.

"The first 20 minutes they pressed and pushed hard and there's a time in the game where you have to be strong and try and avoid receiving chances.

"And we did well. I think at the back we were solid as a team. Willy (Caballero) played really well and off course, with the players we have, if we can avoid conceding a goal we know we can score at any moment.

"We scored the first one and then it's a different game."

He added: "In England the game is never over. We wanted to score that third goal but it never came.

"In the end we played really well. We controlled the game from the first to the last minute and we can look forward to the next game."
