Former Liverpool goalkeeper Ray Clemence says Petr Cech will overcome the dodgy start to his Arsenal career.

Clemence says Cech will quickly return to his best.

"Nobody is perfect and everybody makes a mistake," said Clemence to the Daily Express. "It is just the great goalkeepers make less. I can't remember if I got criticism, but I certainly had a look at myself.

"If you start listening to too many voices outside of yourself, it will affect you. When you have got to that stage of your career, you know what you have done right and you know what you have done wrong. You will be the first to criticise yourself if you have not done something you should have done.

"I know that those three games were not as I would have liked to have played them - it might have been four games, actually. But then thankfully it got better.

"I think we ended up getting a record for Tottenham at that time of clean sheets in the year."
