Jean Makoun II is set for a clean slate under new Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert.

The Sunday Mercury says Makoun spent the 2011-12 campaign on a season long loan at Olympiakos, helping them win the Greek title despite a spell on the sidelines with injury.

But the Cameroon international is due to return to Bodymoor Heath with the rest of Villa's first team squad for pre-season training in the first week of July.
