Manchester City midfielder Frank Lampard made a beeline for Stoke City youngster Ollie Shenton at the end of this week's win.
Mark Hughes offered 17-year-old Shenton a chance to end a horrible week on a high when the midfielder replaced N'Zonzi in the 94th minute.
Shenton's mother, Mandy, recently lost her 15 year battle with breast cancer and her funeral service was held on Monday.
Chelsea legend Lampard, who lost his mother Pat in 2008, went out of his way at full time to swap shirts with the youngster.
My brother is running the London marathon for our mum who recently passed away. All donations are greatly appreciated http://t.co/kIpKRXrqHO
