West Bromwich Albion boss Steve Clarke says the club's academy deserve great praise for the emergence of Saido Berahino.
Clarke believes academy manager Mark Harrison and his staff deserve great credit, adding that the feelgood factor of Berahino's impact had also been noted among Albion's senior first-team players.
"When a young player comes through the academy and is developed by the academy it gives everyone a lift," said Clarke.
"You can imagine how pleased with themselves the academy staff are given they had a big disappointment this summer when Chelsea came in and nicked Izzy Brown off us.
"Now, before the season is a few weeks old, we have another possible star for the club who has come through the academy.
"So everyone is pleased with Saido, especially the senior players. Victor Anichebe mentioned that Saido's enthusiasm for the game had lifted him.
''It gives everyone a lift when you see a young boy coming through and doing well."
