West Bromwich Albion boss Steve Clarke says they need to spend big in the summer to maintain their progress.
Clarke fears Albion could be overtaken if the club do not invest in his squad.
The Scot said: "In the Premier League, if you stand still other teams come charging past you.
"Whether that means spending more money than normal is a discussion for the club.
"The higher up the league we finish the easier it will be to attract better quality players."
