Midfielder Shane Clarke has quit English Northern Premier League club Boston United after landing a trial with an unnamed MLS club.

The 23-year old former Lincoln City man has ended his time with the Pilgrims and will now head to the USA to chase a professional contract.

"It's unfortunate, but he's on non-contract terms so we're not going to stand in his way," said Boston joint-manager Rob Scott.

"He wants to be a professional footballer and it's a fantastic opportunity so good luck to him."
