Clarke hoping to lure PSG's Lugano to West Brom

West Bromwich Albion manager Steve Clarke wants defender Diego Lugano at The Hawthorns.

The 32-year old Uruguay captain is keen to depart Paris Saint-Germain this summer and has reportedly opened talks with the Baggies about the possibility of heading to England's West Midlands.

Former Fenerbahce star Lugano was sent on loan to Malaga last season and is keen to leave Paris permanently.

"What else can I say? There is nothing to say yet. I will return to PSG and do the pre-season with the intention of leaving," he told Urugol earlier this month.

"I haven't decided where yet. I will return to France, but I will be trying to leave."
