Steve Clarke is eager to open new contract talks with West Bromwich Albion.
The Daily Mail says the Baggies' head coach has seven months left to run on his existing deal but is hoping to have his future tied up before the New Year.
Clarke has proved a major success story since taking over a tricky job after Roy Hodgson left for England.
But it was his first position as a manager - or head coach - and West Brom secured his services on a two-year deal.
Clarke has made a big impression but clearly feels the time is right to tie the club down to a longer agreement ahead of Monday's derby against rivals Aston Villa.
