Aston Villa defender Ciaran Clark believes Darren Bent can still have a future at the club.

Clark, who took over as captain on Saturday when Gabby Agbonlahor came off, reckons it is too early to write off Bent.

He said: "He's a deadly finisher and you know he'll score goals.

"I think a lot of people have been writing him off already. But he's back in there now and he was just unlucky not to get a chance.

"Darren has kept his head up and it shows he must have been working hard in training to get back into the team. It just shows how professional he is."
