QPR striker Djibril Cisse has welcomed the signing of Andy Johnson from Fulham.
Cisse believes that the increased competition at Loftus Road following the arrival of Johnson from Fulham can only help to raise his level of performance.
The forward, 30, said: "Competition is good for everyone. We're going to have to fight for our places. For me, this is no problem.
"When you have a lot of good players, of course the team is better. I was disappointed not be a part of the France team. Now it's up to me to score goals next season to get back into the squad.
"I was close but not good enough to be a part of it. I have to score more goals, then I think I'll be OK.
"I scored six goals in eight games last season, but I had two red cards. It was good and bad."
