Brazilian fullback Cicinho has slammed the culture at Real Madrid and the influence of captain Raul. Cicinho, currently playing on-loan at Sao Paulo from Roma, says foreign players at Real are not treated fairly.
"Leaving Madrid to go to Rome for me was a kind of liberation. There, I was a prisoner," said Cicinho. "People said I was crazy to leave, but I knew what I was doing. The crowd was not the problem, the problem was what happened in the locker room.
"The atmosphere at Real Madrid was terrible, mainly because of the small group of Spanish players."
He continued: "Raul has privileges at the club. The big problem is that everything that happens in the locker room the press finds out about.
"Since Roberto Carlos left, the Brazilians lost strength. At Real Madrid there is a tendency to treat foreigners badly. It looks like they are trying now to do the same with Kaka, who is questioned while being the best in the world."
