Christian Vieri has officially left Atalanta.

The 35 year-old has had his contract paid out after being booed by his own fans on the weekend during a friendly.

"I want to thank Atalanta," Vieri said in a brief statement to journalists.

"They have always behaved correctly towards me during both spells at the club."
