Chopra delighted with Sunderland start

Michael Chopra is delighted with his scoring start at Sunderland.

The former Newcastle striker has scored two goals in two games for the Black Cats and told the Evening Chronicle: "I have been getting lots of stick from my mates because they are all Newcastle fans.

"To be honest, everyone is pleased I am doing well in the Premier League. They want me to do well.

"I don't mind a bit of stick if I can keep scoring goals at the top level, which is all I have ever wanted the chance to do.

"I have a lot of self belief in my ability and have always thought I should be in the Premier League.

"I have taken my chances so far and I have to do my best to keep that going. I don't know if I will be involved at Wigan on Saturday but I will be doing my best to make it three in a row."
