Chelsea legend Ron 'Chopper' Harris has backed the ruthless policy of Roman Abramovich.

Billionaire Abramovich has come under fire from fans and pundits alike after axing Roberto Di Matteo and installing Rafael Benitez as the Stamford Bridge manager.

It means the Blues have now had NINE bosses since the Russian took control of the club in 2003 - but they have also won a string of honours in the same period, including last season's Champions League.

Harris told Daily Star Sunday: "For me, he only has the good of the club at heart.

"The club have enjoyed their most successful period under this owner, who has been very successful in his business life."
