Cristian Chivu remains hopeful of winning a new deal at Inter Milan.

It was believed that he was looking to join a new outfit over his unhappiness at being constantly used as a left-back, but he seems intent on pledging his future to the Nerazzurri.

"Staying at Inter is our priority," Giovanni Becali told Il Sussidiario. "We have great respect for Inter, President Massimo Moratti and director Marco Branca.

"We'll certainly meet up with Inter before the end of this month - we just have to find a date that suits us and Branca."
