Chivas USA have signed Venezuela's all-time leading scorer, Giancarlo Maldonado.
The 28-year-old Maldonado has 19 goals in 48 matches for Venezuela. He also scored 32 goals in the Mexican First Division with Atlante from 2007-10, where he won the Apertura 2007 championship.
"Giancarlo is an experienced striker with international experience and the ability to score goals," said Chivas USA coach Martin Vasquez. "He's going to make us a better team as we head into the second part of this season."
Maldonado had been previously linked with Chivas in a swap with Jonathan Bornstein moving in the opposite direction to Atlante.
