Chivas USA announced today that the club has declined its contract option on Jesús Padilla, a forward who had been on loan from Chivas de Guadalajara since August 17, 2009.

In one and a half seasons with the Red-and-White, Padilla played in 37 matches (starting 24), scoring seven goals.

"Jesús gave the club a lot in his time here in Los Angeles, but we've decided to move in a different direction for 2011," said General Manager Jose Domene.

"We'd like to thank Jesús for his efforts and wish him the very best as he continues his career."
