Chivas USA secure favourite Ante Razov to new contract

Chivas USA have announced that forward Ante Razov, the club's all-time leading scorer and an MLS Original, yesterday underwent successful arthroscopic surgery on his right ankle to remove bone spurs. Razov, Major League Soccer's second all-time leading scorer, also signed a new contract with the club. Per league and team policy, details of the contract were not disclosed.

Razov, a Los Angeles native, was operated on by Dr. Rick Ferkel at the Southern California Orthopedic Institute in Van Nuys, and the forward is expected to be out for eight to twelve weeks. A graduate of UCLA, Razov played for the LA Galaxy (1996-1997), Chicago Fire (1998-2004), Columbus Crew (2005) and MetroStars (2005), before joining Chivas USA in 2006, and has since scored 30 goals for the Red-and-White.

With a total of 114 goals in 13 MLS seasons, Razov is in second place on the all-time league scoring charts, and has also scored six goals in 24 matches with the United States National Team.
