MLSsoccer.com reports that Chivas USA striker Alan Gordon has been fined $1,000 and suspended for two games by the MLS Disciplinary Committee following an incident in the Goats' 3-0 victory over Toronto FC at the Home Depot Center last weekend.
The action taken against Gordon was the result of what looked to be a push to TFC defender Adrian Cann's face. Gordon was running onto the end of a through-ball from midfielder Paulo Nagamura when his arm came up against Cann, who was battling for control of the ball.
Gordon was issued a yellow card at the time, but upon reviewing the incident, the committee unanimously decided that the action constituted violent conduct towards Cann, a red-card offense.
