Following three major saves by Chivas USA goalkeeper Zach Thornton, head coach Preki was very aware of how important his goalkeeper was in securing a 1-0 home victory against Real Salt Lake.

"It was a good save. Zach has been rock-solid for us. There was never a question," Preki said.

"We had a very good look from the bench with that shot. I would say it was a very routine save for Zach.

"They were organized and disciplined and worked hard for each other," Preki said of his team.

"You know what I always say -- this group knows how to work for each other and I give them full credit."

Chivas USA now have 22 points from 9 games and sit top of the Western Conference.
