Chivas USA decline option on Romero

Chivas USA announced Monday that it has declined the contract option on Osael Romero, who was on loan from Vista Hermosa in El Salvador.

The Salvadoran midfielder joined Chivas USA prior to the 2010 season, making nine appearances (five starts) with the team and scoring one goal.

An attacking midfielder, Romero played 421 minutes in league play for the Red-and-White in 2010, and also played in all three of Chivas USA's SuperLiga 2010 matches and one U.S. Open Cup game.

The 24-year-old is a veteran of the El Salvador National Team, making 43 appearances with the team since his debut in 2007.
