Chivas USA head coach Preki thought he was watching a hockey match power play at one point during his team's scoreless tie with local rival LA Galaxy at the weekend. Speaking after the game, Preki said: "I knew the emotions would be pretty high. I thought we came out of the locker room pretty good and after 3-4 minutes we really settled and started moving the ball around, and all of a sudden, what can I tell you, a lot of yellow cards. That kind of changed the tempo of the game, and the Galaxy maybe had the one chance, or two, out of our mistakes. Then we went into halftime 0-0 and a man down, so we had to really adjust at halftime.
"I thought the guys did a pretty solid job, apart from one play when we really made a mistake when Landon gets around behind us, we fell asleep for a second. I thought we were solid, and obviously at the end of the game, when now we have a man up, it looked like a [hockey] power play. We had three or four good chances to score and we didn't, so we've got to give them credit. They fought hard too, their goalkeeper played extremely well, and we'll take the point on the road."
