Chivas USA head coach Robin Fraser is delighted with their capture of Ecuadorian midfielder Oswaldo Minda from Deportivo Quito.
Fraser moved for Minda after a scouting trip to South America.
"I went to Ecuador to look at a couple of players, and I actually went to watch a player on his team as Deportivo Quito has quite a few interesting players. But as the game wore on, I kept watching this one particular central midfielder, who was an extremely dominating player," Fraser told MLSsoccer.com.
"Defensively, he was so engaged, he was in such good spots, he broke up so many attacks and he was very good from the attacking side of things as well.
"As the game wore on, he just stood out more and more, so I thought 'This is a player who would be good for us.'"
