Chivas USA have signed promising talent Marco Delgado to a Homegrown contract it has been confirmed.
The 16-year old youth academy midfielder signed the deal on Monday with Chivas general manager Jose Domene very excited about the new addition to the senior roster.
"Hopefully he can make [Chivas'] first team and get some MLS games as well. Again, this is a long process; he's still young and he's got a lot to learn, but the best way to learn is to compete.""He's a great signing for us," Domene told MLSsoccer.com. "He's a great player, he still has a lot to learn, but we're happy to have him in.
Delgado, who hails from Glendora, California, recently returned from USA U18 camp and will now begin to step up his development in a senior environment according to Goats head coach Robin Fraser.
"The kid has ability," Fraser said. "He's got good feet, good ideas and he's grown and more comfortable every time I see him in with the first team and in trainings and in games."
