Chivas USA acquire Romero, Vagenas and McKenzie

Chivas USA have announced the signing of three new players ahead of the 2012 MLS season.

The Rojiblancos have brought in 22-year old Mexican striker Cesar Romero, 34-year old midfielder Peter Vagenas and 25-year old defender Rauwshan McKenzie.

Romero originally from San Diego has played with USA U16's, U17's and U18's and most recently he played for PASL's Revolucion Tijuana after last season playing for Murcielagos FC de Guamuchil of Mexico's Second Division.

Midfielder Vagenas is a 12-year veteran of MLS, kicking off his career with LA Galaxy in 2000, prior to shorter stints with Seattle Sounders and Vancouver Whitecaps whilst McKenzie has spent the past two seasons with Real Salt Lake after a couple of years with Sporting Kansas City.

"We are very pleased to sign Cesar," said Chivas USA Head Coach, Robin Fraser.

"He is a young player who has come in and done quite well in pre-season. He's got good pace, he's got a good nose for the goal, he has proven to make himself difficult to be marked by opposing defenses and we think that he has a bright future."
