FC Basel and Socceroos midfielder Scott Chipperfield is considering an offer to join the North Queensland Fury in the A-League. The 33-year old recently trialed with German club Hertha Berlin but did not pass a fitness test therefore was not offered a contract and his time at Swiss club Basel seems to be limited.

The Fury have offered Chipperfield a contract that he is definitely considering.

"I'm about eighty percent likely to accept the offer they have out on the table and come home," he told SBS.

"The club has two years in mind and that would take me through until I am 35, and then you would hope to take it year by year.

"The fact the Fury have signed Robbie Fowler shows how ambitious they are and I know I would enjoy being a part of that."
