Chinese journalists have criticised Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo for acting in an arrogant manner during a recent press conference.
The Portugal international, on a pre-season tour of China with the Spanish giants, reportedly mumbled one-word sentence answers in the southern city of Guangzhou, leaving the media contingent extremely frustrated.
Yan Qiang, vice-president of Titan Media, believes Ronaldo's alleged surly demeanor may have a negative effect on Madrid's attempts to tap into the huge Chinese football market.
"He always seems selfish and arrogant," said Yan.
"His behaviour won't help his cause in China.
"The questions he was asked didn't have much to do with football. Chinese fans are different from European fans. Chinese are more into the personal lives of their icons."
