Former China international Fan Zhiyi has been offered a coaching role at Birmingham by new owner Carson Yeung. The 39-year-old former defender had playing spells at Crystal Palace, Cardiff and Dundee between 1998 and 2003.

However Fan has a lack of experience when it comes to top-level coaching, having only completed an unsuccessful stint at Hong Kong Rangers before moving on to Shanghai's U16s in the China's National Games.

"I've received an invitation, but I haven't decided what I'm going to do yet," he said.
