Speculation has been rife that the French defender, 31, was thinking about handing in a transfer request.

The former Tottenham and Wigan star has switched clubs five times in five years and only started one game in the final three months of last season.

But his agent Willie McKay said: "He's quite happy to stay at Blackburn."
