Chile midfielder Arturo Vidal was sorry to hear of Lionel Messi's international retirement.
The Barcelona star announced his decision after his miss in the penalty shootout helped Chile beat Argentina in the Copa America final today. "Too bad for Messi that he's leaving the team but he will have his reasons and it is very difficult to talk about this issue," responded Bayern Munich ace Vidal.
Chile teammate Gonzalo Jara was stunned to learn the news.
"Criticizing Messi and saying he must take all responsibility for fallure is not fair nor productive," said Jara.
