Chievo Verona striker Sergio Pellissier was delighted with his goal on debut in Italy's 3-0 victory over Northern Ireland last night.
"It was already wonderful to make my debut. I expected to only have a few minutes, but the Coach gave me half an hour," said Pellissier.
"Life is strange, as I thought I would only make a cameo, yet I scored one goal and could have had a second. It was my night, the ball kept coming to me!
"Playing for the Nazionale is a lot easier than with Chievo. You are inevitably motivated with everyone cheering you on, but Chievo raised me and it is thanks to them I am here talking about Italy now. I will never repay my debt to them."
Napoli made an offer for Pellissier, but Chievo have so far refused to accept any bids for their star striker.
"I am not the person to ask, Chievo control my contract. Other clubs have showed they are interested me and I must thank Napoli for being so kind as to call me there, but I have another four years on my deal with Chievo and I don't want to leave them on bad terms.
"If I did go, then I would feel quite sad and it seems Chievo don't want to sell me."
