Chievo Verona president Luca Campedelli says he wants coach Mimmo di Carlo to stay.
Campedelli said: "We will renew Di Carlo's contract when safety is acquired. But his extension is a formality.
"Next season will be one of great changes. In the last two years the structure of the team has remained the same.
"Now we want to renew it because we cannot become a normal team. Chievo have to surprise people. And we want to focus a lot on our youngsters.
"We have been investing in our academy for five years. We have good youngsters in Serie A. Now it's time to collect the fruits."
