Chievo Verona coach Rolando Maran is confident youngster Federico Mattiello will fight back from his horrific leg break.

The 19 year-old suffered a double fracture to the tibia and fibula during their 0-0 draw with AS Roma.

"I want to wish Mattiello a speedy recovery. We are close to him and sure he will come back stronger than ever," said Maran.

"Unfortunately we cannot feel joy at this draw. We must continue with this type of performance, as today we laid another brick in the foundations of our safety.

"It was an excellent Chievo against a side of great quality like Roma. We could've taken home all three points."
