The Bianconeri ended 2009 in dismal fashion by losing two consecutive Serie A games against Bari and Catania as well as crashing out of the Champions League.
“I wasn’t the only one who needed the break, the whole team needed that,” Chiellini told La Repubblica.
The defender was struggling with a muscular problem, but has now recovered and hopes to play against Parma on Wednesday.
“We rediscovered our confidence and self-belief. Now we need the results and at this moment in time they’ll help us to feel solid again.
“Everyone is giving 110 per cent to get out of this situation and back on track.”
