Chiellini: Juventus revived by January transfer market work

Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini says they've been revived by the club's January market work.

Juventus brought in three new players, bolstering the defence and the attack with Andrea Barzagli, Luca Toni and Alessandro Matri.

"The victory over Inter on Sunday has made us rediscover the identity that we lost in January when everything went badly," Chiellini said.

"There was a problem with our physical conditioning: some of us had spent a lot of energy in the first half of the season when we played a lot often without alternatives because of the injuries.

"In the days leading up to Christmas we didn't manage to recover enough and afterwards we didn't find ourselves in peak condition.

"In that situation, with few alternatives, playing every three days didn't help us. But in Palermo, we saw an improvement even if we lost.

"The team reacted well to going behind. The signings in January have helped us as well."
