Former Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez wants to feel "happy again" after signing for Bayer Leverkusen.

The Mexico international has signed a three-year deal with the Bundesliga side, who have acquired him for a fee believed to be in the region of £7.3m.

"I want to go back to feeling important and happy. I want to find happiness.

"Bayer made me feel important and loved, and coming here was not a difficult decision to make. They made me feel wanted."
